Final Fantasy party info and sign-ups!

So you want your character to participate in the Final Fantasy event? Here’s all the info you need to know for it! First off, a couple of rules:


- Parties can be made up of 1-4 characters, but no more.
- Only characters wearing their outfits will get random encounters.
- A random encounter can happen on any floor of the Satellite.
- Random encounters send your characters in a pocket dimension with anywhere from one to three monsters. Characters cannot escape it unless they either defeat the monster or all get knocked out.
- Magic and special weapons will not work outside of the pocket dimensions.
- Luckily, there’s no death in the pocket dimensions. However, if your entire party gets knocked out, they’ll need an NPC character to come along and revive them before they can do anything else.
- Characters will quickly discover that their actions are all turn-based...they can’t do anything except stand and wait until it’s their turn to make a move.
- All characters start at level 1.

So, how does this work? A large party-style log will be set up where your characters can begin their quests (and other logs may be added in the future as needed.) As soon as your characters hit a random encounter, a Final Fantasy monster will be added in and NPC’d reacting to your characters’ attacks (much in the same way as the Temple Run during Legends of the Hidden Temple Week.) Dice-rolling or other RNG methods may be used to determine outcomes for the fights. When a monster is defeated, your characters will be rewarded experience points...each party member gets the same amount of experience from defeated monsters. Get enough experience points, and you may level up! However, tougher monsters will show up the more your characters level.

Below is a list of the monsters that can be encountered:

Adamantoise - These giant turtles are very slow to attack, but have extremely high defense. You’ll have to work long and hard to take one of these down. (+600 exp each)
Bandersnatch - These wolf-like creatures are mean and fast, but taken down easily. You will likely encounter them a lot. (+5 exp each)
Bat - Damn bats! These things are everywhere, but luckily are easy to kill...they’re more an annoyance than anything. (+2 exp each)
Behemoth - These giant horned beasts are intimidating and very difficult to kill. Don’t wait too long to take one down, or it may cast Meteor on you... (+800 exp each)
Bomb - These floating, fiery fiends need to be killed quickly...if not, they’ll blow up in your face in three turns! (+100 exp each)
Cactaur - These tiny little cactus-creatures aren’t too bad...until they decide to use 1000 Needles on you. What’s more, they’re fast and hard to hit. (+100 exp each)
Chocobo - You’re in luck if you encounter one of these giant riding birds! They will drop feathers to use to cast haste, and give you free experience points without you needing to kill them. (+100 exp each)
Coeurl - These long-whiskered cat monsters will cast powerful magic on your characters. Certain kinds of magic may hurt them, while others don’t. (+25 exp each)
Flan - These squishy slime-like creatures are nearly impervious to regular attacks...magic is a better bet against these things. (+15 exp each)
Garuda - These flying creatures attack from the air or with thunder attacks. They can be tough, but a concentrated effort will bring them down. (+40 exp each)
Giant Worm - These enormous creatures are slow to attack, but can potentially swallow characters, leaving them trapped until the Giant Worm is defeated. (+250 exp each)
Goblin - These annoying creatures attack with a variety of weapons and are great in numbers, but easy to kill. (+3 exp each)
Griffin - These winged beasts attack with their beaks and claws, and while tough, are beatable. (+20 exp each)
Hedgehog Pie - These small, spiked beasts may try to set you on fire, but are otherwise not too big of a threat. (+5 exp each)
Iron Giant - These giant, armored constructs attack with giant cleaver swords. Their size and armor make them very difficult enemies. (+400 exp each)
Magic Pot - These mysterious enemies hide in pots. It’s possible to prevent their horrendous attacks by giving them what they want...but what is it they want? (+500 exp each)
Malboro - These nasty, tentacled creatures spew putrid breath at characters that causes a variety of bad status effects. (+75 exp each)
Mandragora - These small, plant-like creatures may seem harmless at first, but have the ability to cast poison and sleep on characters. (+8 exp each)
Ochu - These massive, fanged plant creatures are a huge pain to fight...they attack both with their sharp vines and with terrible spells. (+ 120 exp each)
Tonberry - You just better hope your party never encounters one of these... (+1000 exp each)
Zu - These huge birds drop down from the sky for surprise attacks, and take some effort to take down. (+120 exp each)

Here’s a list of the various spells that your characters can use...or that can be used against you!

Fire - Cast fireballs at your enemies to light them up!
Blizzard - Throw ice at your enemies to freeze them!
Thunder - Call down lightning to zap enemies!
Aero - Summon a whirlwind to hurt several enemies at once!
Quake - Call up an earthquake to do earth damage to several enemies at once!
Cure - Heal damage done to characters and regain their health.
Raise - If a character faints, use this to revive them.
Esuna - If characters suffer from a continuous ailment, use this to cure them.
Poison - Poisoned characters will continuously lose their health until they faint.
Stone - Characters with stone will be unable to move, and will shatter if attacked.
Confuse - Confused characters stand a chance of attacking their fellow party members...or themselves!
Slow - Characters with slow will only be able to attack every other turn.
Haste - Characters with haste can attack twice in one turn.
Protect - Characters with protect are guarded from physical attacks.
Shell - Characters with shell are guarded from magical attacks.
Sleep - Sleeping characters will not move again until an attack wakes them up.
Blind - Blinded characters can still attack, but will frequently miss.

Signing up Ven, Twilight, and Robin! Ven will be a Paladin because yes this is a "duh" one, Twilight will be a Black Mage because yes another "duh" one, and Robin... I have to go for the irony and make him a Dark Knight XD SMALLEST DARK KNIGHT EVER. Or at least since Arc.

Zidane is sitting out because he is showing his prima donna side and throwing a temper tantrum. He IS available for full-party resuscitation should anyone need it, considering I think he came on to the SOL with one or two Phoenix Downs anyway.

Anyone wants to party with any of them, I'm up for it!

I think the spells will generally look and act like the normal Final Fantasy spells...they may have a bit of a different flair to them depending on the characters though!

Partly because there's only one other one so far (not counting Zidane and his hissy fit) and partly because he needs to be dragged out of his comfort zone in terms on combat roles, Roxas is a White Mage. Link is a Warrior because I'm pretty sure we don't need a guy who's never used magic like this before to suddenly be a mage of any kind.

Either one of them can be drafted into a party that needs their particular skills.

I'm making Celestia an NPC and since she's my only character on here, looks like I kinda sit this one out. But at least it's fitting since if she was in a real RPG, she would be an NPC anyway unless she was a boss like that one parody video, but that doesn't count.
